&Beyond Savute Under Canvas is a mobile tented camp that explores the rugged Savute corner of Botswana's game-rich Chobe National Park. This is classical safari, as your small aircraft flight from Maun to Kasane descends to a remote bush airstrip, where a vehicle awaits to take you on your very first adventure en route to the camp. Wilderness camping at its very best, this is a true African adventure at a mobile camp in the heart of one of the continent's best known wilderness destinations.
At the centre of the camp lies a tented dining area, sheltered from the heat of the sun and equipped with comfortable chairs for quiet contemplations of the sights and sounds of the bush. After sunset, the crackling flames of a blazing campfire draw guests to an evening of natural bushveld therapy.
With large gauze windows and carpeted floors, the five en-suite tents strike the perfect balance between the rugged outdoors and true comfort. Crisp linens and inviting double or twin beds cater to a peaceful night's rest after a day filled with adventure, while al fresco hot bucket showers remind you that, no matter how indulgent, you are in the midst of an African wilderness. Private verandas open up onto the surrounding bush, creating the ideal vantage point to gaze out at the small creatures and colourful birds of the bush.
Arid yet striking, the Savute is filled with a raw kind of beauty, its rocky outcrops and scrubby acacia savannah differing sharply from the dense mopane forests of Chobe. Predator activity is at its best, with the area particularly well known for its large prides of lion, hyena and wild dog.
