What makes Chobe Safari Lodge unique is its range of accommodation types and activity options - there is something for everyone regardless of budget and age! Chobe Safari Lodge is an institution in Kasane as it has been part of the safari scene for a couple of decades. It started life as a cheap and cheerful safari lodge offering basic accommodation which was perfect for a one night stay and a good party! This has all changed as over the last few years Chobe Safari Lodge has undergone a couple of 'make-overs' and as a result now offers a choice of room types suitable for the more discerning traveller.
Although decor styles vary there is a common thread of earthy tones, stone and sand textures and cool screeded floors throughout. The individually decorated Safari Rooms are the most luxurious. With patios leading out onto expansive lawns running down to the Chobe River they feature every comfort including air-conditioning, en-suite bath and shower, as well as limited channel satellite TV. The en-suite River Rooms, which are also air-conditioned, are situated in a wing attached to the main lodge complex. As a reminder of what Chobe Safari Lodge's original accommodation used to offer are eight thatched rondavels with en suite shower and ceiling fan. Last but not least is the well-known Chobe Safari Lodge campsite which is popular with self-drive and budget visitors.
Although Chobe is renowned for its enormous elephant population the Park teems with a variety of game, birdlife and aquatic species including: lion, leopard, buffalo, hippo, crocodiles, red lechwe, puku, sable antelope, hyena, wild dog, jackal, porcupine as well as the zebra, impala, kudu and duiker. Game drives, boat cruises, Namibian bushwalks and fishing excursions are offered - either on a private or shared basis. Enjoy the night sounds whilst dining under the stars as you cruise on the Chobe River between the shores of Botswana and Namibia - this really is a perfect way to end a perfect day!
Families with children of all ages are welcome at Chobe Safari Lodge. On site entertainment is provided by resident families of banded mongoose and well fed warthogs. The guest facilities are extensive and offer an a la carte restaurant which reflects the rich flavours of Africa, two bars, pool deck with good size swimming pool adjacent to the Chobe River, activities center, beauty salon, squash court, internet cafe and for those guests seeking some retail therapy a curio and craft shop.
