If you are looking for a memorable sailing and water sports holiday in one of the most beautiful locations on Lake Malawi, then consider spending a couple of nights at Danforth Lodge and Yachting. Situated at Cape Maclear bordering on the Lake Malawi National Park, Danforth Lodge has eight airconditioned en-suite rooms, tastefully decorated in cool, nautical colours and all opening onto a large patio. All rooms have spectacular views of the lake and look out over Thumbi West Island. The garden has shady lawns leading to a beach-side 'infinity' swimming pool. Being owner run personal attention is high on the agenda.

Winters in Malawi are never cold and the warm, fresh, clear water of the lake is inviting all year round so guests can enjoy swimming, snorkelling, fresh water scuba diving and sailing no matter the time of year. The on-site PADI resort scuba diving centre is fully equipped and there is a resident dive instructor. Lake Malawi is ideal for diving enthusiasts, with clear, fresh, warm water, no tides or currents and a veritable aquarium of tropical fish providing a colourful kaleidoscopic display. There are more than 20 dive sites in and around Cape Maclear.

Water sports instructors are on hand to give expert tuition in water-skiing, wakeboarding, snorkelling and sailing and there are a host of other activities to keep all ages occupied. These include sailing and cruising on the 'Mufasa', Hobie cat and dingy sailing, tube rides, kayaking, fishing, mountain biking, guided nature walks, birding, cultural outings to the traditional village, swimming pool, trampoline, pool table, table tennis and darts.

Danforth Yachting offers a range of live-aboard itineraries on the yacht 'Mufasa'. Sailing itineraries are flexible depending on wind and weather. Guests can choose from sailing safaris of between five nights and 11 night's duration.

The 'Mufasa', a fully equipped and crewed ocean-going catamaran, is the only live-aboard yacht of its kind on Lake Malawi. Measuring 11.58 metres (38 ft) in length, the 'Mufasa' sleeps eight guests in comfort and style and the layout includes two bathrooms, four double cabins, two crew berths, saloon, galley, a shaded cockpit and a dive platform.
