The Marine is perched on top of the cliffs of Hermanus with spectacular seascapes over Walker Bay and the picturesque Overberg Mountains. Famous for offering some of the best land based whale watching in the world, Hermanus has still managed to retain the atmosphere of an old fishing village. When the Southern Right whales migrate to Walker Bay during the months of June to November Hermanus really comes alive.

A splendid historic building The Marine has been part of the Hermanus landscape for over a century. The Marine offers two dining options. The Pavilion is relaxed and informal, but with an understated elegance. The view of the ocean adds another dimension to the dining experience. A unique feature is the floating wine cellar that features some of the best wines from walker Bay and South Africa. Seafood at The Marine is modern and relaxed and serves fresh fish from Walker Bay. The open kitchen, with its young talented chefs, provides diners with a close-up view of the frenetic activity.

Pamper yourself at the Carchele Beauty Spa, which has a Steam Room, a Hydro Bath and a Vicci shower, or shop up a storm in the Collection Boutique with its extensive range of gifts, books, jewellery and local craft items.
