Nicholas & Robert More, brothers and 4th generation owners of Lion Sands Private Game Reserve, built 1933 at Lion Sands as a private lodge for their families when visiting Lion Sands. The lodge is aptly named after the year in which their great grandfather, Guy Aubrey Chalkley, came to this area and is offering guests the ultimate hideaway or private family home. Enjoy complete privacy, combined with the finest location in some of Africa's best safari territory.
The four spacious suites are set in secluded positions all along the Sabie River. The clean white lines and cool screeded floors are warmed by soft rugs beside the twin or king beds and the top to bottom windows merge the indoors with the African bush. The en-suite bathrooms are open to the rooms, with elegant bath tubs and clear glass walk-in showers placed at the windows. Double vanities provide plenty of space and double doors open out to decking and an outside shower. The decking continues all along the front of the suites and is furnished with lazy chairs, offering private views of the river. There is a separate children's dormitory, designed to sleep up to eight children on fun bunk beds. It has his and hers bathrooms as well as inter-leading bedroom for an au-pair.
This lodge has been designed to be booked on an exclusive use basis and your stay at 1933 at Lion Sands includes the services of a dedicated host and chef as well as the private use of a 4x4 Land Rover with a highly qualified guide and tracker for game drives. All meals, local drinks and laundry are also included. A dream home, 1933 truly encapsulates the warmth associated with a family owned lodge, while still ensuring a world class luxury safari experience.
