The Stanley and Livingstone is situated in the 6 000 acre Victoria Falls Private Game Reserve, adjacent to the game-rich Zambezi National Park, a mere 12 minute drive from the village of Victoria Falls. Offering luxury and attention to detail this small hotel is the perfect choice for guests who are appreciate colonial charm in a quiet bush setting away from the hustle and bustle of Victoria Falls. As its name suggests the theme throughout is that of traditional England. The thatched reception area, lounge, conservatory and dining room are furnished with plenty of heavy antique furniture, historic memorabilia and paintings depicting David Livingstone's travels.

There are 16 indulgent suites featuring spacious air-conditioned bedrooms that are lavishly furnished and equipped with all modern conveniences. Each suite has an elegant bathroom with a romantic Victorian bathtub and modern power shower as well as a living area that opens out onto a round pavilion style veranda overlooking the game reserve. There is a honeymoon suite complete with four-poster bed and drapes, spa bath, a secluded entrance and private views of the lush gardens.

During the day wander through the well-manicured tropical gardens that are dotted with ponds, water features and garden benches. Sit quietly and listen to the abundant bird life or unwind at the swimming pool which provides welcome respite during the heat of the day or relax. From the sun terrace where breakfast and high tea is served enjoy watching a constant flow of animals including elephant, buffalo, kudu, waterbuck and sable at they make their way to the waterhole in front of the lodge.

In the evenings the handsomely decorated downstairs bar is a natural gathering place prior to retreating to the elegant silver service dining room with is warm pressed ceiling, dainty wall paper and antique turned chairs.

There is lots to do in the way of optional activities in the area or on the private estate as after all Victoria Falls is the adventure capital of Africa, offering an array of wildlife and water adventures to cater for all tastes. Estate activities include day and night game drives, a walking safari with lions and an elephant back safari.
