Lake Nakuru (Nakuru, meaning "Waterbuck Sanctuary") is a famous lake, with mountainous areas and savannahs. The forest vegetation is covered with tall cactus like trees and acacia woodland. The forest region is a host to over 400 migratory bird species from around the world. Lake Nakuru is a saltwater lake, famous for attracting large flocks of flamingos.
