Nampula Province

Situated in the north of Mozambique, Nampula Province not only has a colourful and fascinating history but boasts some of the country's most stunning landscapes. The ancient Portuguese settlement of Ilha de Mozambique, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the vast natural port of Nacala, are proof of Nampula's important role in Southern Africa throughout the ages. The landscape is breathtakingly beautiful with its mighty inselbergs - huge volcanic granite rocks which dominate the skyline - contrasting with the crystal clear turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean.
