Selous Game Reserve

The Selous Game Reserve is big, traversed by great herds of buffalo, elephant, hippo and sable antelope. Most of Selous is dedicated to private hunting concessions and scientific research. Only about 10% of the Park is dedicated to tourism. Here in the northern section of Selous you will find the Rufiji River, which defines the Selous safari. Traversing this network of lakes and rives by boat offers a different game viewing experience as you will see sandbanks covered with huge crocodiles; carmine bee-eaters flying around the mud banks; and islands where elephants browse.
